Volvo CE Introduces All-New Grading Bucket For Compact Wheel Loaders

Volvo Construction Equipment has announced a new grading bucket with an all-new design that’s compatible with six of the company’s compact wheel loaders, including the L20F, L25F, L30G, L35G, L45H, and L50H. Volvo says it designed the bucket to be “the perfect attachment when stripping topsoil, landscaping, light-duty dozing, and levelling.” The bucket joins a stable of other attachments for Volvo’s compact wheel loaders that include forks, grapples, and material-handling arms, as well as side-tip, high-tip, scrap, and general-purpose buckets.

Deeper Digging

Volvo CE offers 17 compact and large wheel loaders combined. The compact models range in bucket capacity from 0.45 to 1.6 cubic metres. The company’s new grading bucket features a long, flat floor that’s reinforced with Hardox plates to provide greater durability. Compared to the bucket it replaces, the new bucket provides 50 millimetres of extra digging depth. Volvo says its lower bucket frame provides “a much better view through the bracket to the leading edge of the attachment.” Emptying the bucket is also easier, thanks to a repositioned interface that Volvo says enhances the titling angle.

Other features include a new flat-on-top side plate design that helps indicate the bucket’s position, which assists the operator with defining the level angle and provide greater precision and faster grading operations. Elsewhere, Volvo CE says a straight rear-edge design carried over from the previous bucket generation is ideal for levelling while reversing. Additionally, a snow extension frame significantly increases the bucket’s volume.
