Ag equipment and parts manufacturer Grange Machinery has appointed Kellys of Borris as its first dealer in Ireland, covering sales, parts, and service. Kelly had Granger-made implements displayed on its stand at the recent Farm Tractor and Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA) Farm Machinery Show held in early July in Nass, Co. Kildare. Customers can find Grange Machinery stock and demonstration equipment at Kellys of Borris head office in Borris, Co. Carlow, and its depot in Abbeyleix, Co. Laois.

    Forming A Connection

Established in 1957, the family-owned Kellys of Borris claims to be one of Ireland’s largest stockists of new and used farm and plant equipment. The company carries tractors, combines, forage harvesters, other machinery, and parts from Claas, Dalbo, Horsch, JCB, Joskin, and other brands.

Grange Machinery is also a family-owned operation that serves customers in the UK, Europe, and overseas. Based in Holderness, East Yorkshire, the company’s product lineup includes tillage implements, packer rollers, and liquid fertiliser applicators. Grange says its products help growers lower costs related to establishing crops whilst enhancing soil structure and efficiency in the field.

    On Display

At the Farm Machinery Show, Kellys of Borris displayed Grange’s 4m Close Coupled Toolbar (CCT). Grange says the 4-metre (13-foot) machine is designed for use with mounted or trailer implements, and operators can use it with 3-point hitch-mounted machines and power take-off (PTO)-driven machines such as power harrows. Offered as a track eradicator, the CCT features four to 12 low-disturbance loosening legs, an up to 300-millimetre (11.8-inch) working depth, variable leg spacing to accommodate wheel or track centres, and an A-frame with clevis jaw to allow for trailed units.

Kellys also displayed Grange Machinery’s 3m Grass Land Loosener (GLL), a 3-m (9.8-ft) tool designed to alleviate soil compaction, enhancing drainage and allowing air into the soil whilst minimizing grassland damage. Components include low-disturbance legs and points with 0.5-m (1.6-ft) spacing, six hydraulic front cutting discs for trash management, a 3-m toothed packer roller, and options for sheer-bolt or hydraulic-reset protection.
