Väderstad, one of the world’s leading companies in tillage, seeding, and planting, launches a new product family of inter-row cultivators: Extract. The new product family will be part of Väderstad’s tillage product portfolio and sold under the Väderstad brand from the summer 2024.

In February earlier this year, Väderstad announced the acquisition of the full product range of inter-row cultivators from the Danish company Thyregod. The acquisition included all intellectual property rights to the inter-row cultivator product area from the Danish company.

The new product family of inter-row cultivators has been named Extract and painted in Väderstad’s traditional red, yellow, and black colours. It will initially be sold in two models: the trailed Extract L 16-48 and the mounted Extract V 8-36. Depending on the model, both Extract L and Extract V will be available with row spacing of 225, 250, 450, 500 and 750 millimetres.

“The Extract family of inter-row cultivators is a perfect match to our current portfolio of Tempo planters, to our new technologies for seeding with the upcoming Proceed concept, and for future sustainable and efficient farming. It is also a new product segment for us at Väderstad, and one that we see a big potential for in the market,” says Mattias Hovnert, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing at Väderstad.

With uncertainty regarding regulations for certain pesticides, there is a demand from the market for a machine that can perform mechanical weed control between plant rows. Väderstad Extract has a high main frame together with a patented solution for lifting the row units, which both avoids doing damage to the plants and enables inter-row cultivation for a longer period in terms of plant height. Extract L also has a unique frame solution, where it can hold two frames into one main frame, which increases the efficiency and saves a pass for the farmer.

“By speaking to our Tempo farmers and looking into the future, we see a shift to more mechanical solutions for weed control. Väderstad can now offer farmers a complete solution. Extract is a perfect match to their Tempo planters, and it is also optimized to fit our Proceed concept,” says Wolfram Hastolz, Director Tillage Product Management at Väderstad.

From summer 2024, Extract inter-row cultivators will be included in the wide range of Väderstad farm machinery, fully branded in Väderstad colours. The introduction will start with Extract V 8-36, with Extract L 16-48 to follow.

You’ll find a big selection of new and used Väderstad farm equipment for sale every day on this site.
