New Holland To Showcase T4 Electric Power Tractor At Agritechnica 2023

Agritechnica 2023 will mark the European public debut of New Holland’s T4 Electric Power utility tractor. The tractor made its global debut at CNH Industrial’s Tech Days in the United States in 2022. The T4 Electric is the industry’s first all-electric utility tractor with autonomous features. Commercial production of the T4 Electric will begin this year.

Zero Emissions, All Day Long

The all-electric utility tractor is the first fully battery-powered, zero-emission light utility tractor and joins the T7 Methane Power LNG and T6 Methane Power in New Holland’s zero-carbon tractor portfolio. The T4 Electric Power is designed for mixed farm, livestock, municipality, and orchard applications. The tractor generates 88 kilowatts (120 horsepower) of peak power and 440 newton-metres (325 pounds-foot) of maximum torque; it has a maximum speed of 40 km/h (25 mph).

The battery can perform up to one full day of work, depending on the application, and can recharge in one hour with a fast charging system. The tractor can also serve as a backup power source for other devices and implements. In addition, the T4 improves operator comfort during the workday through reduced noise and vibration. Lower noise levels also allow the tractor to work in urban areas with noise regulations and perform nighttime and indoor operations.

One Smart Tractor

The T4 Electric is equipped with several autonomous features that reduce the total cost of ownership, assist the operator, and improve overall performance. The tractor’s Smart Roof has a 360-degree awareness system, which uses sensors, cameras, and control units to detect and avoid obstacles, synchronise multiple machines, and check process status. Shadow Mode allows the operator to use gesture control to guide the tractor from outside the cab and Follow Me Mode enables the tractor to follow the operator during tasks such as passing through gates. Fleet manager gives managers the ability to assign tasks from the office to each tractor in the field.
