DEUTZ-FAHR Details New 4E Series Keyline & 6W Profi Powershift Tractors At Agritechnica 2019
German tractor and combine harvester manufacturer DEUTZ-FAHR announced a new four-model 4E Series Keyline lineup of two- and four-wheel-drive compact tractors at the recent Agritechnica 2019 trade show in Hanover. The company also previewed its new three-model 6W Profi Powershift lineup of mid- to high-power tractors. DEUTZ-FAHR, an SDF Group company, says it designed the new lineups with emerging markets in mind. Overall, the company produces roughly 20 series of tractors, as well as the narrow Agrokid compact tractor, front loaders, and various Connected Farming Systems solutions.
The 4E Series Keyline
The 4E Series Keyline lineup includes the 4046E, 4050E, 4055E, and 4060E Keyline models. DEUTZ-FAHR says they are “extraordinarily versatile,” “robust,” and “offering superior comfort,” among other things. Available with two- or four-wheel drive, the models range from generating 45 to 60 maximum horsepower via three-cylinder Stage III A-compliant engines from Simpson (4046E) and SDF (4050E, 4055E, and 4060E). DEUTZ-FAHR says the engines’ “extraordinary fuel efficiency” means the 55-litre included tank is more than adequate for “working uninterruptedly for hours on end even in the toughest conditions.”
The tractors’ fully synchronised mechanical transmission—based on a four-speed gearbox with two or three ranges—offers 8+2, 12+3 (with optional creeper gear), 8+8, or 12+12 (with optional creeper gear) speed configurations, enabling the transmission to meet “even the most demanding applications.” All configurations support a top 34 km/h speed. Elsewhere, in addition to Light and Heavy Duty rear axle options, the 4E Series Keyline models provide a classic 540 rpm PTO speed mode along with 1,000 rpm, 540 ECO, and 540 rpm reverse variants available as options. The cab, meanwhile, features an all-flat platform, intelligently organised controls, an analogue instrument panel, and a two-pillar ROPS (rollover protective system) structure.
The 6W Profi Powershift
The three models in the 6W Profi Powershift family include the 6175 W Profi PS, 6155 W Profi PS, and 6135 W Profi PS. DEUTZ-FAHR says it designed the lineup specifically for “outstanding reliability and to deliver class-beating performance.” The company says the tractors provide “superlative in-cab comfort” and lower operating costs compared tractors with equivalent power and technologies.
Ranging from 131 to 171 rated horsepower or 141 to 177 maximum horsepower, the tractors all use six-cylinder Deutz TCD 2012 L06 2V engines with DCR (DEUTZ Common Rail) electronically controlled common-rail fuel injection. The engines are compliant with Stage IIIA emissions regulations, and they come with a 260-litre fuel tank, though a supplemental 95-litre tank is available as an option.
The tractors’ ZF transmission, meanwhile, provides six powershift speeds and four ranges for 24 forward and 12 reverse speeds. An optional fifth range boosts the total speeds to 30+15. In addition to featuring a standard electrohydraulic reverse shuttle, optional Sense Clutch technology can enable setting the shuttle’s reactivity to one of five levels. Elsewhere, the tractors’ electronically controlled lift features a Cat II/III 3-point linkage. DEUTZ-FAHR says the lift’s base version can already lift up to 6,200 kilograms, but adding external auxiliary cylinders bumps load capacity to up to 9,700 kilograms. DEUTZ-FAHR also offers a front lift with Cat II three-point linkage with a maximum 3,850-kilogram lift capacity.
